Meet Our Compassionate Team Specializing in Holistic Psychiatry in North Carolina
Stephanie Misenhelder (Quist), PMHNP-BC
Stephanie Quist is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with experience caring for individuals across the lifespan. She provides treatment for a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, psychosis, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, substance use disorders, and other psychiatric conditions.
Stephanie began her healthcare journey by earning bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry and Biology, followed by a master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. She later earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specialization from The Ohio State University.
As a recipient of the VA Health Professional Scholarship Program, Stephanie completed advanced training through the VA Boston Healthcare System PMHNP Residency Program, where she gained experience in multiple psychiatry specialties across both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has extensive experience working with veterans and VA patients and understands the unique mental health challenges that can accompany military service, transition to civilian life, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other service-related conditions.
Stephanie believes in providing compassionate, evidence-based, and individualized care. She is passionate about helping each patient feel heard, supported, and empowered in their treatment. She is especially committed to serving veterans, first responders, LGBTQ+ individuals, neurodiverse individuals, and survivors of trauma.
Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, and engaging in activities that promote balance and well-being.
Jeremy Misenhelder, Veteran, First Responder
Jeremy Misenhelder brings a unique background in emergency services, military service, and program development. As an Army veteran, firefighter, paramedic, and former federal employee, Jeremy has dedicated his career to serving others during some of the most difficult and critical moments of their lives.
With extensive experience working alongside veterans, first responders, and military families, his professional journey includes roles in emergency medical services, mental health advocacy, crisis response, quality improvement, and program development. He developed a suicide-prevention initiative during his federal career, aimed at supporting active-duty service members and addressing the unique challenges faced by military personnel.
Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Services Administration from Columbia Southern University and has completed master-level coursework in Healthcare Project Management at Liberty University. His education, coupled with years of hands-on experience in emergency services and public service, fuels his passion for creating practical, compassionate solutions for those in need.
At MindCraft Psychiatry, Jeremy enhances operations, outreach, patient experience, and program development focused on veterans, first responders, and individuals navigating mental health challenges. He is particularly dedicated to improving access to mental health resources and establishing programs that bridge the gap between appointments, ensuring no one feels alone in their struggles.
